Dear Madam.

1 In answer to your letter of April 12:th I beg to answer, that I have given the messr Allen & Comp. the right to publish this edition of ”Snowdrops” and ”Whisperings in the woods”, but by no means the copyright for ever. You will understand this as much better, when you I inform you that they have never given me a penny in salary. Consequently they have no right whatever to decide concerning an eventual future edition. As their 13 years have passed since theirs|| was published, I find myself fully authorized to give the copyright to somebody else especially in a new translation. Of this reason I give you hereby the right to translate and publish in English which of my tales theyou likes on termss which I already mentioned in my last letter and which arerest unchanged. But I cannot give the copyright for ever over this eventual volyume to you or your publisher.tillagt av utgivaren
